MINISTRY RUNS 3rd AT 6/1.
Our first tip from the pages of this blog finished third at a well backed price of 6/1 at Plumpton yesterday. He ran well, but of course, we are not satisfied with his final finishing position. We tip horses hoping they will win.We do not tip because we think they will place. That is not to lay blame at the feet of anyone for his finishing position. On the day, he just met two others who were better than him.Nevertheless ,those of you who took my advice and backed this one would also have followed my advice and backed him each way. That means you would have earned a small profit on your overall outlay.Your cash was returned to your pocket and none was left with the Bookies.Winning is important,it's the object of the exercise, but not losing any of your stake is in itself,a minor victory for which we must be thankful..........Our selection for today runs in the 1.40 at Taunton.a class 5 Handicap Hurdle over a distance of 3mls/1fur,a marathon trip for the 16 contestants due to go to post for this one. It's a race for Conditional Jockeys and the going is reported to be good to soft ,soft in some places. When reviewing a race , I try to unearth as much information that I can possibly find in order to assist me in arriving at my final conclusion.Lots of research is done in an effort to get things right. In so doing, I came across a comment by one race reviewer whose opinion was that this race was full of ,as he put it,"deadwood'.Now I don't intend to disagree with the goodly gentleman for making that comment, on the contrary ,I tend to agree with his observation. However 'deadwood' or not, at the end of that 3mls 1 fur ,one of these' deadwoods' will be crossing the finish line ahead of the other 15 'd.............s.' . It is to our hope that our selection would be the horse to pull it off.Our choice therefore in this race is the Neil Mulholland trained horse, HOBBS DREAM [ No 9]. His conditional jockey, Andrias Guerin ,gets a handy 8 lb pull from his fellow conditionals.Hobbs dream had his first run for this season in a Handicap Hurdle in which he placed 2nd.He was then sent Chasing ,without much success, until taking a very nasty fall in his last outing back in December. He is back over Hurdles today ,but, in a field comprised of horses of little ability, I am of the firm belief that he is going to prove himself to be a cut above this bunch..The trip poses no problems for Hobbs Dream,He has run over a longer trip before [3mls/3furs].The ground is not a concern either,as a matter of fact connections would welcome more rain. This Horse has won twice in Heavy going and both these victories came in January 2011.His record reads 24 races....3wins.....5seconds....1third..Trainer Neil Mulholland is fresh from a big race victory on Saturday when his stable star Midnight Chase captured the graded Argento Chase at Cheltenham. He has sent out 142 runners for this campaign though he has had only 12 winners. However at this track.,his record is 3 wins and 10 placed horses from 51 runners overall. Our advice is that HOBBS DREAM be backed to land the spoils in this race . A good price is expected, but remember ,each way betting is once again advised on all bets.{4 places on offer so long as all 16 run}Best of luck. Please Share this with others.
